It’s my honor to introduce you to NOLA Church! You’ll discover that our passion is to provide a place where people just like you can have a life-changing experience with GOD.

At NOLA Church, our doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. What people usually notice first about us is the Life-giving nature of our ministry. Our goal is to infuse life and GOD’s love into people and families through engaging, powerful worship experiences that offer biblical truth in relevant and practical ways.

But it won’t take you long to discover that we’re more than just a Sunday church. In fact, we’re actually a network of Small Groups. If you’d like to develop authentic and enduring relationships with others, you’ll be glad to know there are opportunities to join a Small Group all the time.

Together, we’re striving to become the kind of church described in the Bible; where there’s relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer and compassionate care for those in need. In short, we’d like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and encourage the entire community, one life at a time.

So whether you’re a spiritual seeker who’s just starting to ask questions about GOD, or a committed believer who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a home here at NOLA Church. Our relationship with GOD, our family, our friends and our world is where real life-change begins. We invite you to worship with us this Sunday!

In the meantime, you’ll find everything you need right here to get connected to our online resources. You can use this site to check out our various ministries, listen to our podcast, find information on our Small Groups or read about what’s going on around our community.

Enjoy, and please contact us if you have any questions.

It’s our honor to call New Orleans home… and we’re here until our city knows Jesus!

GOD bless you,

Monte Young

Lead Pastor

Pastor Monte grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He entered into full-time ministry at age 25, and since that time has been active in pastoral ministry in Orange County, California, Anchorage, Alaska and now New Orleans.

In March of 2004 GOD gave Pastor Monte a vision of a church community in the heart of New Orleans that would change the face of our city through the radical life-change GOD promises. This vision became a reality in August 2011, when several families began moving to the New Orleans area to begin serving the city by sharing the Light and Love of Jesus. Over the next few months, more families connected together to turn our city upside down by connecting people with GOD.

The heart of Pastor Monte’s message is transparent Christ-imitation and how to live our lives as expressions of GOD’s Character. His hermeneutical approach to understanding the Bible has impacted lives across the country and around the world. Pastor Monte teaches us that every believer should learn to dissect the Word of GOD for themselves; not depending on someone else’s opinions or philosophies about GOD, but for every one of us to have an intimate and personal relationship with GOD. He is also an accomplished singer/song writer, and has authored two books, Clear and RED Letters (soon to be re-released as Unpacking the Character of GOD).

He and his wife Olga live in the New Orleans area with their four daughters, Jade, Eden, Adia and Kyli.

NOLA Church began as a small group in January 2012 with around 15 people. In September 2012 we launched our Sunday Worship Experiences and have continued to grow ever since. Pastor Monte Young leads NOLA Church with a passionate vision to connect people with GOD.

When you come to worship with us you will experience intimate and heart-felt worship to Jesus, as well as a strong sense of community and an intentional call to serve our city. You will also hear the Word of GOD preached with passion. This is because we believe that GOD’s Word changes lives.

We gather in Small Groups all over our city to provide connection and community close to where you live. We invite you to join us for worship or visit a Small Group soon to see what we’re all about.

Our Purpose is the basic foundation of who we are as a faith-community. Each aspect of our Purpose determines how we operate as a congregation, and how we make a difference in our city. As connectors, it is responsibility to connect every believer with GOD’s Plan for them, which is seen in the four promises GOD made in Exodus 6:

“Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. I will take you as my own people, and I will be your GOD. Then you will know that I am the LORD your GOD, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.” Exodus 6:6-7 (NIV)

These promises remain at the core of His heart and have never changed. They are the key to your fulfillment and His plans for you.

“I will bring you out…” SALVATION
“I will free you from being slaves…” DELIVERANCE
“I will redeem you…” REDEMPTION
“I will take you as My Own people… “ FULFILLMENT

We’ve discovered that the easiest way to make the decision to follow Jesus is in a Life-giving environment, surrounded by other people on the same journey. This is why we’ve intentionally designed every one of our Worship Experiences to connect you with Jesus and to help take your first step toward a personal relationship with Him.

We all have baggage that we bring with us into our relationship with Jesus. In fact, you may even believe that your past disqualifies you from experience a real and life-changing connection with Him. Here’s the amazing truth: Jesus doesn’t save us because we’re perfect. In fact, our past has nothing to do with receiving His free gift of Salvation. But, He doesn’t want to be chained to our past forever… this is why He’s promised to give us lasting freedom from all of our baggage! We’ve discovered that the easiest way to find freedom is in a Life-giving environment, surrounded by other people on the same journey. This is why we’ve intentionally designed every one of our small groups to help you discover the amazing freedom that comes from surrendering your past to the future He’s designed for you.

Have you ever asked the question, “Why am I here?” Here’s another amazing GOD-truth: Jesus designed you on purpose for His Purpose! After we’ve received salvation and found freedom, Jesus wants us to discover the Purpose He’s designed us to fulfill. This is why we’ve intentionally designed our NEXT Steps and Growth Track to help you discover your purpose and to grow as a leader.

Jesus created you for more than to simply exist. In fact, He intentionally designed you to make a difference and to connect other people with Him. This is why our various ministry teams exist: to create opportunities for you to make a difference. On the Dream Team you can serve other people on Sundays. On the SERVE Team you can serve our city by helping to meet the needs of others in our various SERVE Projects (humanitarian, charitable, construction, visitation). On the Legacy Team you can make a financial investment into the Mission of Jesus here in the New Orleans area and around the world.

We exist to connect people to GOD. This is our Vision. This is our passion. We are dedicated to living our lives as His connectors.

The way that we live out the Vision is our Mission. Our Mission is to serve our city with the Light and Love of Jesus, so that people far from GOD will come to know GOD’s radical life-change.

We are intensely committed to living in community with each other, doing life together.

We are committed to helping every believer discover the giftings that GOD has given to every person, individually.

We are committed to inspiring every believer to acts of love and service to the world around us.

We are committed to equipping every believer to accomplish the Mission, personally.

We are committed to intense, expressive and heart-felt worship of Jesus in every Worship Experience.

With great reward comes great responsibility. Because of GOD’s generosity to us, we are committed to shining the Light and Love of Jesus by serving our city, our state and our world.

We believe prayer and worship must be the cornerstone of our lives and the Vision of this house.

We accept all shapes, types and backgrounds of people. Everyone belongs, everyone is valued and everyone matters.

Through our Worship Experiences, Small Groups, SERVE Projects and Mission, we give all we have to help the one person find hope in Jesus, find freedom through Life-giving relationships with Him and His followers, discover purpose by discovering His design for them, and to live a life that makes a difference that lasts.

Our culture honors GOD, our pastors, leaders and all people. We value other churches, pastors and leaders in our city and nation.

We believe that every Jesus-follower must continue to grow, so we preach, teach, challenge and equip so that everyone is elevated. We believe that the church should be the greatest birth place of loving relationships. We believe that deep friendships produce great community, growth and leadership, and that real life-change happens in the context of Life-giving relationships.

We believe the church should operate in a united community of servants who follow the same Leader, run the same play and refuse to gossip.

Generosity towards others demonstrates GOD’s love for His people and His Character in us. Generosity in our financial giving honors and supports the Vision of His church.

Excellence honors GOD; because of this, we believe that excellence attracts and inspires people.

Growth is vital to the life and ministry of our church. We grow people, GOD grows the church.

We are humbled by all GOD has done and continues to do through us. We will never forget where He rescued us from or the Mission He’s entrusted to us.

The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of GOD. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant.
2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26

GOD is and always will be, eternally. While GOD is a Spirit, He expresses Himself in many ways throughout the Text (the Word of GOD) and in our lives today. The expressions of GOD are the memra of GOD.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 61:1; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 1:35; John 5:21-23; John 14:10-16; Romans 8:9-11; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 1:8-10; James 2:19

Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD, the physical expression (memra) of the Invisible Spirit of GOD. On earth, Jesus was 100% GOD and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, and will return again in power and glory.
John 1:1,14, 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5

Man was created good and upright, but by voluntary transgression he fell; his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD.
Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21

For anyone to know GOD, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
John 6:44, 65

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; His death, burial and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from GOD, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts.
Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22

Repentance is the commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ, which allows us to receive His redemption and to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Thus, through repentance we receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation.
Acts 2:21, 3:19; 1 John 1:9

Sanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to GOD’s Word and His Spirit in order to complete the development of Christ’s character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of GOD that the believer is enabled to live a godly life.
1 Thessalonians 4:3, 5:23; 2 Corinthians 3:18, 6:14-18, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3, Romans 8:29, 12:1-2, Hebrews 2:11

The Blood that Jesus Christ shed on the Cross of Calvary was sinless and is 100% sufficient to cleanse mankind of all sin. Jesus allowed Himself to be punished for both our sinfulness and our sins, enabling all those who believe to be free from the penalty of sin, which is death.
1 John 1:7; Revelation 1:5, 5:9; Colossians 1:20; Romans 3:10-12, 23, 5:9; John 1:29

Believers are people who have invited the Lord Jesus Christ to come and live inside them by His Holy Spirit. They relinquish the authority of their lives over to him thus making Jesus the Lord of their life as well as Savior. They put their trust in what Jesus accomplished for them when He died, was buried and rose again from the dead.
John 1:12; John 14:17, 23; John 15:4; Romans 8:11; Revelations 3:20

Given at Pentecost, it is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the Church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth.
Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5,2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6

The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of biblical parameters.
Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11,12:4-8; Ephesians 4:16; 2 Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10

The Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of GOD through the Spirit, the Community of Christ, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the Church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23

Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48; 1 Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25

Healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus, and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign, which is to follow believers. It is also a part of Jesus’ work on the Cross and one of the gifts of the Spirit.
Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18; Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16; 1 Corinthians 12:9, 28; Romans 11:29

It is GOD’s will for believers to become whole, healthy and successful in all areas of life. But because of the fall, many may not receive the full benefits of GOD’s will while on Earth. That fact, though, should never prevent all believers from seeking the full benefits of Christ’s provision in order to better serve others.
