Jesus didn’t design us to do life alone…

in fact, His Plan is for us to do life together!

BETTER TOGETHER: DON’T DO LIFE ALONE

(Ecclesiastes 4:12, MSG) By yourself you’re unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn’t easily snapped.

TOGETHER WE HEAL

(Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, MSG) Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.

• GOD’s cure for loneliness is COMMUNITY

Three ways we heal together:

1. Together we heal OURSELVES

(James 1:16a, NLT) Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed

2. Together we heal EACH OTHER

(Galatians 6:2-3, NLT) Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.

3. Together we heal our WORLD

(John 13:34-35, NLT) “I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

TOGETHER WE GROW

(Hebrews 10:23-25, NLT) Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for GOD can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Three ways we grow together:

1. Together we grow in STRENGTH

(Proverbs 27:17, NLT) As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

2. Together we grow in WISDOM

(Proverbs 13:20, NLT) Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.

3. Together we grow in INFLUENCE

(1 Corinthians 12:7, NLT) A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.

TOGETHER IN JESUS

(Matthew 18:20, NLT) “Where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”

• Unity always gets GOD’s ATTENTION

Next Step: Stay connected to LIFE GIVING people who CHALLENGE me and SUPPORT me

“In biblical community we’re protected, because we’re only as sick as our secrets. In biblical community we’re challenged, because we’re held accountable to the Character of Christ, not compared to each other. In biblical community we grow, because each time we gather with other believers we’re provoked and motivated to do good works!”
