Have you ever wished you could change your future? What if this really is possible?

The only way to change the future is to let go of the past, and to live in HOPE!

SPEAK GOD-THOUGHTS

SERMON NOTES

Speak GOD-Thoughts

Without HOPE it’s easy to lose sight of who we are in Jesus
When we don’t live in HOPE, everything we say is impacted by the hopelessness we see

Change your future by changing your perspective

Change your perspective by changing your words

PSALM 139:1-6 NLT
O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!

BUT, WHAT IF I SCREW UP… WON’T THAT CAUSE HIM TO LEAVE ME?

Jesus doesn’t base His opinion of you on your actions. He bases His love for you on His Own action

PSALM 139:7-12 NLT
I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.

You don’t have to change to gain His affection, but He loves you too much to let you stay the same

JESUS LOVES ME BECAUSE OF WHO I AM… NOT BECAUSE OF WHAT I DO

PSALM 139:13-16 NLT
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

Rather than speaking words of hopelessness, learn to speak HOPE into your life. Speak GOD-Thoughts about yourself

How does Jesus see me?
I am a new creation in Him (2 Corinthians 5:18-19)
I am righteous and holy (Ephesians 4:24)
I’ve been born again by the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-6)
I’m saved by grace as a gift, not because of my performance (Ephesians 2:8)
I radiate Light wherever I go (Matthew 5:14)
I am a child of Light (1 Thessalonians 5:5)
I am the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13)
I’m a vessel of Divine Light (Corinthians 4:6)
I am victorious! (Romans 8:37)
I have a Heavenly calling (Hebrews 3:1)
I have Royalty in my veins and I lead with integrity (1 Peter 2:9)
I am designed for good works (Ephesians 2:10)
I am a co-heir with Jesus (Romans 8:17)
I am chosen and called by GOD to make a difference (John 15:16)

JESUS HAS A PLAN FOR MY LIFE… ALL I HAVE TO DO IS ACCEPT HIS THOUGHTS ABOUT ME

PSALM 139:17-18 NLT
How precious are your thoughts about me, O GOD. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!

LOVE GOD
When I accept that GOD’s Thoughts about me are Truth, HOPE gives me the ability to accept His free gift of salvation

Replace your thoughts with GOD-Thoughts

KNOW GOD
Jesus wants to be in relationship with you… personally
Your personal relationship with Jesus will help you see yourself the way He already sees you

SPEAK GOD-PROMISES

PS MONTE | 9/16/2018

SERMON NOTES

HEBREWS 11:1-2 AMP

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. For by this [kind of] faith the men of old gained [divine] approval.

Speak GOD-Promises

Without HOPE it’s easy to forget who we are in Jesus

When we don’t live in HOPE, everything we say is impacted by the hopelessness we see

How do I see my future through eyes of faith?

Stop looking at the past and start looking at where He’s leading you

How do I change my perspective?

Change your perspective by changing your words

ISAIAH 40:31 NIV

Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

BUT, WHAT IF I DON’T TRUST GOD… CAN I STILL TRUST HIS PROMISES?

Seven reasons we have trouble trusting GOD:

1. Something happened to us in our past

GOD-Promise:

Your situation didn’t take Me by surprise (Psalm 139)

2. Our circumstances in life are nowhere near where we thought they would be

GOD-Promise:

I already have your problem solved (1 Corinthians 10:13)

3. Someone who claimed to be a Christian really hurt us at some point

GOD-Promise:

I AM more compassionate than you realize (Psalm 56:8)

4. We’re control freaks

GOD-Promise:

I AM much more capable of managing your life than you are (Isaiah 55:8-9)

5. We believe that GOD is a taker and not a giver

GOD-Promise:

I AM is incapable of misunderstanding, mismanagement, or mistakes (Deuteronomy 32:4)

6. We don’t believe that His ways really are greater than our ways

GOD-Promise:

I can—at any time—step into your situation… so wait for My timing and learn all I want you to learn in the moment (Romans 8:28)

7. We want Jesus to be a part of our lives, but to fully surrender to Him would mean we may need to make changes

GOD-Promise:

A messy situation is one of the primary ways I can awaken your need for Me, grow your dependence on Me, shape your character, and draw you closer to Myself (James 1:2-3)

You can trust His Promises, because His desire is for you to have HOPE

JEREMIAH 29:11-12 NLT

“I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

In those days when you pray, I will listen.”

GOD’S PROMISES ARE MINE BECAUSE OF WHO HE SAYS I AM

ZECHARIAH 2:8b NLT

For [GOD has] said, “Anyone who harms you harms my most precious possession.”

You are GOD’s most prized possession… the apple of His eye… His masterpiece!

Speak GOD-Promises about yourself!

GOD is fighting for me (Exodus 14:14)

GOD gives me strength when I’m weary and increases my power when I’m weak (Isaiah 40:31)

GOD is with me, so I have no reason to be afraid (Isaiah 41:10)

GOD will not abandon me, even when I’m going through hell (Isaiah 43:2)

GOD will vindicate me, and no weapons or accusations against will prosper (Isaiah 54:17)

GOD will give me wisdom if I ask Him… and He finds no fault in me (James 1:5)

GOD is faithful and will forgive me, if I will confess (1 John 1:9)

GOD Himself walks in front of me, and He will never leave me (Deuteronomy 31:8)

GOD Himself set me free, so I’m truly free! (John 8:36)

GOD Himself will meet all my needs, according to the wealth of His Character (Philippians 4:19)

GOD can be trusted… and He wants you to know this Promise!

JESUS HAS A PLAN FOR MY LIFE… ALL I HAVE TO DO IS ACCEPT HIS PROMISES FOR ME

2 CORINTHIANS 1:20 NKJV

For all the promises of GOD in [Jesus] are Yes, and in [Jesus] Amen, to the glory of GOD through us.

When you accept that GOD’s Promises are for you, HOPE gives you the ability to walk away from your past

SPEAK REVIVAL

SERMON NOTES
HEBREWS 11:1-2 AMP
Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. For by this [kind of] faith the men of old gained [divine] approval.
To make our Vision powerful we need to speak the things we want to see…
• Speak GOD-Thoughts
• Speak GOD-Promises
• Speak Revival
• Speak the Future, Not the Past
This isn’t the power of mind over matter… it’s declaring GOD-Truth, thus inviting GOD into our situation.
When He walks into the room, everything changes!!!

SPEAK REVIVAL

Without HOPE it’s easy to forget who we are in Jesus
When we don’t live in HOPE, everything we say is impacted by the hopelessness we see
(Our quality of life is defined by our shortcomings)
How do I see my future through eyes of faith?
Stop looking at your situation as your final destination
How do I change my perspective?
Change your perspective by changing your words
(Speak Revival over your life and watch your reality change)
What is Revival?
Is it a promise of GOD of something that will happen at the beginning of the End Times?
Or, is it a GOD-Promise that can and should be accessed by every believer on a regular basis?
Revival is mentioned 487 times in the Bible (revive, renew, reanimate)
Biblical Definition of Revival: Return, recall, recover to Life from death
(So, what does it mean to Speak Revival?)
1 KINGS 18:41-44a NLT
Elijah said to Ahab, "Go get something to eat and drink, for I hear a mighty rainstorm coming!"
So Ahab went to eat and drink. But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel and bowed low to the ground and prayed with his face between his knees.
Then he said to his servant, "Go and look out toward the sea."
The servant went and looked, then returned to Elijah and said, "I didn’t see anything."
Seven times Elijah told him to go and look. Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, "I saw a little cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea."
"BUT, WHAT IF I CAN’T SEE ANYTHING BUT MY SITUATION…
CAN GOD STILL MOVE FOR ME?"
Jesus isn’t limited by our lack of faith, or our inability to trust Him
He can—and will—move in your life, all you have to do is get out of the way
1 KINGS 18:44b NLT
Then Elijah shouted, "Hurry to Ahab and tell him, 'Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don’t hurry, the rain will stop you!’"
Ahab not only hated the man of GOD, he didn’t even believe GOD had the power to make it rain
Ahab’s doubt didn’t stop GOD, in fact his doubt invited GOD to make Himself known
SPEAKING REVIVAL FOCUSES MY EYES ON GOD’S FUTURE FOR ME
2 CORINTHIANS 4:16-18 NLT
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
Don’t fixate on the problems
Fix your eyes on things that cannot be seen!
Speaking Revival breathes HOPE into your life
1. GOD will revive me so I can worship Him (Psalm 85:6)
(Worship restores my intimacy with GOD)
2. GOD will revive my life if I humble myself, seek Him and change my thinking (2 Chronicles 7:14)
(Repentance invites revival into my thinking, then into my actions)
3. GOD will revive me in the middle of my situation, and He’ll remember His mercy for me (Habakkuk 3:2)
(Repentance invites Jesus into my situation so that His mercy can heal me)
4. GOD’s Word will revive my character and give me His Wisdom (Psalm 19:7)
(Studying the Bible restores my character to my Original Design in Jesus)
5. GOD’s Spirit grants me repentance when I change my mind about my situation (2 Timothy 2:24-26)
(Even my own repentance falls short, GOD’s Spirit completes repentance in me… reshaping my life)
6. GOD will cleanse my character and renew my spirit when I turn to Him (Psalm 51:10)
(Repentance begins in the mind, the continues in my actions as I allow my new GOD-Thoughts to turn my life toward Him)
JESUS WANTS TO BREATHE HIS LIFE INTO MINE…
ALL I HAVE TO DO IS ALLOW HIS REVIVAL TO HAPPEN IN ME
NEVER SETTLE
Make the choice to NEVER SETTLE for what you see with your own eyes… Speak Revival and change what you see
ACTS 3:19-20 NLT
"Repent of your sins and turn to GOD… Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the LORD…"
DISCOVER PURPOSE
Jesus designed you for a greater Purpose… stop looking backward and start looking UPWARD and FORWARD!
(Talk about your situation with the people in your group this week, then share with them your prayers for personal revival)
SPEAK FUTURE

SERMON NOTES
2 SAMUEL 9:1-8 NKJV
Now David said, "Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?"
And there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba. So when they had called him to David, the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?” He said, "At your service!"
Then the king said, "Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of GOD?"
And Ziba said to the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan who is lame in his feet." So the king said to him, "Where is he?"
And Ziba said to the king, "Indeed he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar."
Then King David sent and brought him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar.
Now when Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face and prostrated himself. Then David said, “Mephibosheth?" And he answered, "Here is your servant!" So David said to him, "Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually." Then he bowed himself, and said, "What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?"
Three truths about Mephibosheth’s brokenness:
1. He didn’t ask for it
2. He wasn’t asked about it
3. It was imposed on him because of what was happening around him
Two realities about your brokenness:
1. Your brokenness should not lead you to depression
2. Your brokenness should not lead you to sorrow
YOUR PAST WILL NOT DEFINE YOU…
BECAUSE GOD IS GOING TO REFINE YOU
ISAIAH 61:7 NKJV
Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.
How to face your self-esteem issues:
1. Stop blaming others
2. Take responsibility for every area of your life
2 SAMUEL 9:9-11 NKJV
And the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said to him, "I have given to your master’s son all that belonged to Saul and to all his house. You therefore, and your sons and your servants, shall work the land for him, and you shall bring in the harvest, that your master’s son may have food to eat. But Mephibosheth your master’s son shall eat bread at my table always."
Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Then Ziba said to the king, "According to all that my lord the king has commanded his servant, so will your servant do."
"As for Mephibosheth," said the king, "he shall eat at my table like one of the king’s sons."
The purpose of your wounds:
1. To bring you into relationship with the King
2. To restore all that has been lost
3. To open your eyes
JOHN 20:25-28 NKJV
The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the LORD." So he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe."
And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace to you!" Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My LORD and my GOD!”
